Out and About / Mother's Day
Happy Mother's Day
The Taggart men would like to start out by paying tribute to the Woman in Our Life: Gloria. We miss her and want her to know we love her. She is the constant that keeps life in perspective and makes it all worthwhile. We know she is in good hands with Elizabeth and the grandkids close by this Mother's Day. . .but we are thinking of her. It is also Mothers Day here in China. The love between parents and their children is apparent here everywhere. There is a special spirit in China that is palpable but hard to explain.
Matt and Tim had the opportunity to go to the local Branch meeting. It is a combination English/Korean Branch. The Chinese speaking Branch meets separately. The meeting was in the home of the former Branch President. The primary children sang a song to the Moms, it was great. Tim spoke for a few minutes in Sacrament meeting, then was asked to share information about his work etc in Priesthood meeting. There was a great spirit. It was also great to meet Jim Ely's new wife Rita, what a wonderful woman. Matt discovered why Tim loves to attend Church Meetings all over the world. There is a common language of the Spirit, and the overwhelming feeling of love that is unmatched.
Friday night the boys had a night on the town. We walked over next to Tim's hotel to the Seafood Resturant to try dinner out for a change. It was a cultural delight and a great meal. There are no menus, just sample dishes laid out beautifully. You tell the waiter which ones look good and they prepare them. If you like, you can select froms dozens of different live fish or other sea creatures in tanks. It is amazing. We selected a river fish, shrimp in a sweet and sour glaze, a squash dish that was beautiful and wonderful tasting and meat dumplings. What a meal. . . what an experience.

happy mothers day to Sis. Taggart!! We love our mission mom!! It has been so fun reading your updates, Joseph! Best of luck over there...
Happy Mother's Dat Sister Taggart! I'm fascinated by President and Joseph's experience in China - advances in medicine all over the world are incredible. I just spent 5 months in the Caribbean and South Ameica aboard the Navy's Hospital Ship "The Comfort" I'll have to catch you all up sometime on that experience. We spent a week in Guatemala - wondered if we were anywhere near where Joseph was.
Take care and best wishes!
Love,
KC Nilsson
