May Begins - 5/6/07
Early this morning at 1:02 AM plus three and a few hundredths of a second, the time read: 01:02:03:04 05/06/07. That won't happen again! (In Europe and other places in the world the abbreviation of todays date is 06/05/07. . . messes that up doesn't it? The spiffy time reading occurs on the 5th of June there.)
The Utah Jazz did it! Winning the first round of the NBA Playoffs in game 7 in Houston. What an exciting game. A real lesson in commitment, endurance and teamwork. It is amazing what can be accomplished by working together with everyone doing their part. They play the Golden State Warriors in round two beginning Monday night. GO JAZZ.
Early in the week Dad got the English Ivy planted on the new lattice work along the side fence of the back yard. It's cool if even for the name! The week ended with cool and rainy British weather to soak them well and make them feel at home.
Joseph finished his last final test of the Semester at the University of Utah this week. He really enjoyed his classes and did well. He picked up his books for Summer Semester and is ready to go back for more.

Joe,
Just returned from a nephew's graduation in Helena, Montana and six days in Banff/Jasper National Parks.
The English Ivy looks good in the photo. It should take over the back yard in about a week.
Saw Sydney Fonnesbeck recently being walked by a very loud dog in Memory Grove. She says, "hi."

Hi Joe,
Jane and I stopped by to see if you could come out and play.
We were on our way home from Delta, yes, Delta. We attended the dedication ceremonies declaring the Topaz Internment Camp a National Historic Landmark.
Take care,
Phil
p.s. I peeked over the fence. The yard is coming along nicely.
